Both Haus of the Rising Sun and Haus of the Setting Sun sit at the very top of Ski View Drive in Panorama Point, a quiet residential community perched high above Ober Gatlinburg. From up here, you can see the entire Smoky Mountain valley — Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge spread out below you, Mount LeConte rising in the distance, and on clear days, ridgelines stretching as far as you can see.
Ober Gatlinburg is about five minutes down the road. Downtown Gatlinburg is a short drive. Great Smoky Mountains National Park is right at your doorstep at light number one. You are close to everything — but up here it feels like you are a world away from it.
About the road: Ski View Drive is a paved, city-maintained road. It is steep and winding in places — that is what puts you above the clouds on foggy mornings. Most vehicles handle it without any issue. We recommend AWD in winter or icy conditions.
Parking: Each cabin has driveway parking for two vehicles.
