One thing to know about staying in this area — you’re up high.
That comes with a few trade-offs, but it’s also what makes it special.
The Drive
The roads are curvy and you’ll gain elevation pretty quickly. It’s normal for Gatlinburg, but if you’ve never driven mountain roads before, just take it slow the first time up.
The Views
This is the reason people keep coming back. You’re above a lot of the surrounding area, and on some mornings, you’ll actually be above the clouds.
The Quiet
Once you’re back at the cabin, it’s noticeably quieter than town. No crowds, no traffic noise — just a slower pace.
Wildlife
You might see bears or other wildlife around. It’s part of the Smokies — just keep your distance and don’t leave food out.
Distance to Town
You’re still close enough to get to everything easily, but far enough away that it feels like your own space.
Most guests tell us the same thing after their stay — they planned to go out more, but ended up spending more time at the cabin than expected.
And that’s usually a good sign.
