Our family has been visiting Gatlinburg for many years. It always felt very special to us, like we belonged here. We traveled here so many times on a very limited budget when our kids were growing up, and I always knew this was where I wanted a second home. The Smoky Mountains were our family's playground and still are to this day — and now our kids are bringing their own families to the same areas they grew up visiting.
We were able to become part of this great community and purchased our first Gatlinburg cabin in 2017. We loved it so much that we wanted to share the experience with others. Why would you want to come to Gatlinburg and not stay on the mountain — as locals call it — with panoramic Smoky Mountain views, and wake up every morning to God's beauty spread out before you?
That's exactly what we built Roaring Bear Cabins to offer. We have two beautiful mountain cabins above Ober Gatlinburg — Haus of the Rising Sun and Haus of the Setting Sun — both sitting at Panorama Point on Ski View Road, one of the highest residential elevations in Gatlinburg. Rising Sun faces east for stunning sunrise views over the valley. Setting Sun faces west for breathtaking sunsets behind the Smoky Mountain ridgeline and city lights below. Each has its own charm, its own private hot tub deck, and the kind of mountain views that make you forget everything waiting at home.
